      ABC provides on-going care, emotional support and practical guidance for anyone affected by eating disorders. They support and care for those struggling personally, and resource and equip parents, families, friends and professionals.

    • Beating Eating Disorder (Beat)

      Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity. They provide information and support through Helplines which people can call, text or email; online support including information, message boards and online support groups; and Helpfinder, an online directory of support services.

    • Bipolar UK

      Bipolar UK offer information, support groups, online support groups, and a telephone/email helpline for those affected by Bipolar. 

      There are support groups running in Penrith, Whitehaven, and Carlisle. Details can be found using the search tool on the Bipolar UK website.

    • Cumbria Partnership – Life is a Rollercoaster

      Offers signposting and information to young peopla bout a range of issues, including Feelings, Bullying, Sexual Health, Smoking, Asthma, Diabetes, Healthy Eating, Drugs & Alcohol, and Self Harm.

      FRANK helps you find out everything you might want to know about drugs (and some stuff you don't). For friendly, confidential advice, Talk to FRANK. Webchat, text, telephone, and email services available, as well an online information.

    • Get Connected

      Get Connected is the UK's free, confidential helpline service for young people under 25 who need help, but don't know where to turn. they offer support around a range of issues including: Abuse and violence, Bullying/Harassment/Discrimination, Citizenship and cultural issues, Crime the law and your rights, Drink, drugs and addictions, Education and training, Families and care, Feelings, mental health and wellbeing, Gender identity and sexual orientation, Harming yourself, Housing and homelessness, Money, Debt and Benefits, Physical health, Sex, relationships and pregnancy, Work and Unemployment.

    • Inspira

      Inspira work for clients and communities in Cumbria and across the UK, managing and delivering services to young people and adults to help them develop their personal and employability skills. They work across different dimensions of people’s lives – family, health services, schools, friends, leisure activities, housing, careers, further education, and specific needs relating to social and community issues, criminal justice and homelessness.

      The Patient Experience Team recognise that as a patient, relative or carer, sometimes you may need to turn to someone for help. The Patient Experience Team provides a confidential advice and support service, helping you to resolve any concerns you may have. The team includes Complaints, Patient Advice and Liaison (PALS), Involvement and Engagement of people who use our services and their carers, volunteers and members of the Trust.
