Worried about someone?

Supporting someone who is distressed or living with a mental health problem can at times leave us feeling confused and helpless. It may also have a big impact on your life if you find yourself in a caring role you did not choose.

We’re here to provide practical information, guidance and reassurance to help you more effectively support a friend, relative or colleague. To understand their situation, their mental health problem, and what support might be available to them.

We also provide information, guidance and support to employers, schools and care providers wanting to more effectively support individuals experiencing mental health problems.

Side By Side

Side by Side from Mind is an online peer support community where you can:

  • Talk about your mental health
  • Connect with others who understand what you're going through

We all know what it's like to struggle sometimes. Side by Side provides a safe place to listen, share and be heard.

Whether you're feeling good right now or having a hard time, the Side by Side community is a safe place to share experiences and listen to others. The community is available to all, 24/7.

Side by Side is moderated daily from 8am to midnight.

You and Your GP

For most of us, our local GP practice is the first place we’ll go when we’re unwell. It’s there to help us with our mental health as well as our physical health. In fact, around one third of all GP appointments are related to mental health. However, it’s not always easy having that first conversation about your deepest feelings with your GP, someone you may hardly know. That’s why Mind has made a short film and guide on how to make the most of the few minutes you have with your GP or practice nurse.
